The Strand House, a new Manhattan Beach restaurant by the Zislis Group, ran by Michael and David Zislis, opens August 11 with a sophisticated menu, relaxing setting, and world-class dining experience.The Zislis Group calls the space”elegant and dramatic” and the tone “welcoming and casual,” both of which will be enhanced by Prescriptive Music’s playlists.
The Strand House elevates fine dining with a contemporary menu and modern setting. The beachfront property features a glass facade that overlooks the beach, with doors that can open to create a semi-outdoor dining area.
Katsuya by Starck, the brainchild of Master Sushi Chef Katsuya Uechi, entertainment powerhouse sbe, and designer Philippe Starck, opens a new location in Laguna Beach on July 8. (more…)

The latest project from the CEO of Grill Concepts (The Daily Grill, Grill on the Alley) is Public School 612, a unique new bar and eatery in downtown Los Angeles serving craft brews chosen by expert “beer chick” Hallie Beaune and a beer-friendly menu by Daily Grill Executive Chef Phil Kastel. While you ask yourself who makes a better pizza, the restaurant asks, “What (besides the food) will make the customer stay and have the most enjoyable experience possible?”
Test Kitchen is the product of many people’s efforts, but the concept of Bill Chait and Brian Saltsburg. Test Kitchen is a showcase for chefs by restaurateurs and allows for experimentation and testing of new ideas and concepts. Visiting chefs will be serving dishes they are working on for future restaurant projects. Mixologists provide innovative pairing opportunities and avenues to express their craft. Each chef will be working alone or in consultation with Ricardo Zarate, who is currently finalizing his own restaurant. As each chef comes in, they have a conversation with the Prescriptive Music programming team to make certain that the musical vibe is set for their evening.
